Who we are

A gym in Huntsville that scales to the person, not the other way round

Fitness 300 is a strength and conditioning gym on Huntsville's Madison County side, open to every fitness level and every body type. The same session runs for a 68-year-old rebuilding after surgery and for a competitor six weeks out from a race. The movements are shared, the load and the distance are yours.

Most people who join have tried a big-box gym and drifted out of it inside three months. Not because they were lazy, but because nobody showed them what to do, and nothing about the room made them want to come back. Here a coach is on the floor for every class on the schedule, the group is small enough that we know your name, and the plan changes as you do. That holds across all of the gym services in Huntsville we run, from a first coached session to race week.

Why gyms don't stick

Three reasons the last gym didn't work

  1. You were handed a keycard and nothing else.

A coach is on the floor for every class on the schedule, and your first session is spent learning the equipment rather than guessing at it.

  2. The programming assumed you were already fit.

Every movement here has a version that fits you today. Step-ups instead of box jumps, lighter sleds, shorter distances, scaled on the spot, without a conversation about it.

  3. Nobody noticed when you stopped showing up.

Small groups and the same faces every week. People notice, and that turns out to be most of why members stay.

Who trains here

Who Fitness 300 is for

Fitness 300 trains beginners and competitors in the same room. If you have a goal and you are willing to show up, there is a place for you on this floor.

Losing weight
Training for weight loss here builds the habit first and the intensity second, so the work is repeatable rather than punishing.
Getting stronger
Barbell, dumbbell and machine work with a coach watching your mechanics before the load goes up.
Running a marathon
Conditioning training and strength work that support the mileage you are already putting in on the road.
Racing DEKA
Sled, ram, row and carry work. Training for a race means drilling the movement set race day asks for, against a clock.
Chasing a first HYROX
Running paired with the eight functional stations, so the transitions stop being the thing that breaks you.
Starting over at any age
Our floor runs from teenagers to members in their seventies, and one-to-one coaching is there if you would rather start away from a group.

What we do

Six ways to train here

Fitness 300 offers personal training, strength training, weight loss training, conditioning classes, race training and open gym from one floor in Huntsville. Every one of them is coached, and every one of them scales to the person doing it.

New class

Foundations: refine your movement, upgrade your strength

Every Tuesday, 6:15 PM

Foundations is the class to walk into first. It works the movement itself, before load, so the squat, hinge, press and carry you use in every other session on the timetable are patterns you own rather than ones you are working around.

It is built for beginners and it is not only for beginners. The room runs from people in their first week to athletes who train here five days a week and want their mechanics cleaned up, because the same six things are what hold both of them back.

  • Beginner to advanced level athletes
  • Functional movement
  • Conditioning
  • Core strength
  • Balance
  • Better form

The space

The equipment, and the room to use it

Fitness 300 is a single open bay in Huntsville with a turf lane down one side, glass roll-up doors along the front, and enough floor that a full class can train without queueing for a rack.

The community

The room is the reason people stay

The photograph below is an actual Fitness 300 session, not a stock image. Every age and every body type in it trains on the same floor, in the same hour, at their own numbers.

Questions people ask before joining a gym in Huntsville

Open gym is $97 per 4 weeks. All group training, with open gym included, is $247 per 4 weeks. The first week is free, and there is no contract and no joining fee.

No, and the room is the reason. A normal session at Fitness 300 has someone in their first month training next to someone prepping for a race, and both are working at their own numbers. Every movement scales (step-ups instead of box jumps, lighter sleds, shorter distances) and the scaling happens without any discussion about it. If you would rather hear it from members than from us, what members say is on Google.

No. The first week is free and does not need a card. Come about ten minutes early so a coach can walk you round the floor, and wear trainers and something you can move in.

Yes. Coached classes run Monday to Friday and the schedule on this page lists every one of them, so you can see exactly when a trainer is running a session. Open gym is the same floor without a class on it.
